Challenger Eastern...Blue fin slider

I've got a few classics hangin in the shop...this one's a 2 stringer, blue fin cruiser made by Challenger Eastern...mid 60's in near mint condition.  This one came into my first shop maybe 10 years ago...thanks again Brian!  These beauties were made in Neptune, NJ over by Kelly's Tavern...the owner was a guy named Tinker West.  Maybe this beauty was shaped by Jim Phillips!

I recently came across a thread on Swaylocks that has some real cool history on Challenger Eastern...really worth the read!  (Challenger Eastern and Jim Phillips thread) www2.swaylocks.com/node/1028954

Because of his ties to Challenger Eastern, I asked Jim Phillips about the board...

Jim Phillips:
the serial number is really low, that makes me think it was built very early on to Tinker coming to NJ and this would have been before I was involved, but it seems to have a multiple lay up tail block, something I did not see on his boards.

Nevertheless, it is a bitchin board and the attention to detail is what steered me to what I do today
